Frontend Engineer

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a talented Frontend Engineer to develop the dashboard for the Plutoshift platform. Process real-time data from industrial systems. Work with the backend and data science team to deploy the platform for customers. Work with the users to understand how to make the platform even better. Work with the Client Engagement team to deliver on specific customer use cases.

Position Responsibilities:

The following duties are required:

  • Write production code using modern JavaScript (ES5/ES6). Need to be highly proficient with it.

  • Strong knowledge of HTML/CSS, including concepts like layout and cross-browser compatibility

  • JavaScript on the server (NodeJS, ExpressJS)

  • Work with ReactJS framework to develop the dashboard

  • Work with tools such as Babel, Webpack, and NPM.

  • Work with test frameworks such as Jest

  • Work with wireframe tools such as Balsamiq

  • Work with data visualization tools such as D3

Backend Engineer

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to work with Plutoshift customers to deploy our platform. Build the real-time data connector with customers’ data systems to set up our platform. Develop features for the Plutoshift platform to process real-time data from industrial systems. Work with the data science team to deploy the packaged AI models. Work with Plutoshift team members to ensure that the customers are fully engaged with the platform.

Position Responsibilities:

The following duties are required:

  • Work with various moving parts of a real-time cloud platform including databases, APIs, and load balancers

  • Understand various data pipelines and streaming frameworks

  • Build the platform packages using Python

  • Develop the platform using Django and Django REST Framework

  • Manage user data using SQL Databases (MySQL)

  • Manage data using noSQL Databases (Cassandra)

  • Manage our cloud computing architecture on Google Cloud

  • Work on Configuration Management (Ansible)

  • Manage builds and releases on Jenkins

  • Manage orchestration on Kubernetes

  • Manage code management on Git

  • Manage engineering priorities on Jira

  • Write production code to process real-time data and product outputs from machine learning models

  • Work closely with the data science team to help deliver on specific customer use cases

Proficient in:
  • Python

Data Engineer

What is Plutoshift?

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Data Engineer who will focus on architecture and engineering for efficient data flows. They will coordinate with the Data Scientist and Engineers to enable the start of their work, including basic feature engineering.  This role will be customer focused. He/she will work with customers to explore their data, uncover insights, and help turn those insights into operational decisions in collaboration with the internal Plutoshift team. He/she will bring new thinking to Plutoshift related to data engineering and understand what it takes to productize AI. This role will support the business goals of Plutoshift, new business efforts as required and top line revenue growth. This a vital role for Plutoshift and key to near and long term to success.

Position Responsibilities:

The following duties are required:

  • Understand batch vs. stream systems, POC and production ETL work
  • Coordinate with the data scientist to implement final data shape, accommodating any additional feature engineering/ data transformation that were develop during the data scientists work
  • Design a production data pipe for the engineering team that focuses on speed of data processing and maintaining data integrity
  • Participate in the Data Ops and Data QA
  • Coordinate with the machine learning engineer to connect the production data pipe to the production machine learning engine to enable ease of production modeling
  • Develop and coordinate with Engineering team
  • Communicate via slack channel, zoom rooms, email, etc.
  • Act as sounding boards (any member should be prepared to act to support or assist analyzing the client or internal engineering problems we face)
  • Participate in Peer Review and Data QA of new processes and models
  • Data Engineer needs python experience
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing Environments (GCS, AWS)
  • Docker, ETL (e.g. Azure Data factory, AWS Glue) and Data Lakes (ADLS, S3)
  • Support and critiquing Data Science Development Life Cycle Process to have continuous iterative improvement
  • Support Data Science, Engineering, Customer Engagement and Sales Team colleagues
  • Experience with at least two Enterprise data integration tools such as Informatica, SSIS and hand-coded SQL/PL-SQL
  • Experience with Cassandra, Postgres SQL, and MySQL
  • Cloud-based Data Warehouse experience a plus
  • Have the ability to think strategically and relate architectural decisions/recommendations to business needs and client culture
  • Have the ability to assess data lakes and architectural components required based on business needs.
  • Have experience across all phases of data modeling, from conceptualization to database optimization.
  • Have knowledge of how to assess the performance of data solutions, how to diagnose performance problems, and tools used to monitor and tune performance
  • Review & refine the existing architecture of analytics data
  • Define the data structure, advise on technology to be used and define how it should be laid out
  • Define the data to be collected, structure/ define table, entity & relationships.
  • Interact with a group of technical and leadership teams on a day to day basis
  • Independently drive solution architecture as well as project planning and estimation
  • Interpret and deliver impactful plans that specify strategy and improve data integration, data quality and data delivery in support of business initiatives and roadmaps to achieve results
  • Have the ability to interact in a fluid, demanding and unstructured environment where priorities evolve constantly, and methodologies are regularly challenged
  • Set standards for data management and conceive projects needed to eliminate the gap between current state and future goals
  • Be hands-on in project and development work, as demanded by the project and client role
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
